Mental Health Peer Specialist Session
Meet or talk with someone who has been there. (No judgment here!)
- 30 min30 minutes
We know that having a support person in addiction treatment tremendously increases the chances of successful management and recovery. The same is true of mental health challenges, such as anxiety, depression, social stressors (hello, Covid-19!), ADHD and more. Why? Because when someone listens from the same vantage point from which you speak, there is camaraderie, empathy and support - not judgment. A State of Texas Certified Mental Health Peer Specialist listens to understand - not to fix. We nod when we recognize our own struggles within yours. We remember experiencing the same things you are going through. We understand when you say "I don't know why I do this." Perhaps we share a bit of our story, what worked for us, and what did not. Maybe we share some tips. We probably laugh to keep from crying. Mostly, though, we are non-judgmental, supportive listeners, bound by a code of ethics from the State of Texas, and trained in ways to use our experience to help others who are walking a similar path. There is no need to walk alone. Contact us now.
